Finding Rest (Scholar’s Compass)
What has a man from all the toil and striving of heart with which he toils beneath the sun? For all his days are full of sorrow, and his work is a vexation. Even in the night his heart does not rest. This also is vanity. There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God, for apart from him who can eat or who can have enjoyment? For to the one who pleases him God has given wisdom and knowledge and joy, but to the sinner he has given the business of gathering and collecting, only to give to one who pleases God. This also is vanity and a striving after wind. – Ecclesiastes 2:22-26, ESV
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.â€Â – Matthew 11:28-30, ESV [Read more…] about Finding Rest (Scholar’s Compass)

A Call for Asian American Christian Voices and Perspectives
The Korean Churches for Community Development (KCCD) are establishing a new social media platform, Asian American Christian Voices and Perspectives, to address policy issues affecting the Asian American community. We are looking for scholars to write 1-2 page policy briefs and 1-2 theological reflections on specific topics such as
- human trafficking
- immigration reform
- mental health.
We also need writers to produce blog pieces soliciting the perspectives of leading Asian American pastors, Christian community leaders, and community members affected by these topics.
The aim of this platform is to educate the church, mobilize its members, and raise the voice of Asian Pacific Islander Christian leaders in the public square. For more information, please contact Dr. Russell Jeung, professor of Asian American Studies, rmjeung at gmail dot com.
Welcome to Scholar’s Compass
Welcome to Scholar’s Compass, a devotional written for and by scholars.
InterVarsity Emerging Scholars Network (ESN)’s goal in this endeavor is to give Christian academics a resource as they navigate the delights and challenges of integrating their vocation as believers with their vocation as scholars. We believe that God has made all creation, that He sustains it in His generosity, and that it reflects Him. Because of that, every field of study will provide opportunities to glorify God and celebrate His good work. [Read more…] about Welcome to Scholar’s Compass
