We’re thrilled to announce that our STEAM grant faith/science series has been accepted for publication as a small group study guide with Hendrickson Publishers. We’re working toward a 2019 publication date, and in the meantime if you’re looking for fall faith/science resources, you can browse the online series titles below. The series is designed for small group conversation, with discussion questions built in.
This project was made possible through the support of an award from the Science and Theology for Emerging Adult Ministries project at Fuller Theological Seminary. The opinions expressed are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect the views of Fuller or the STEAM project.
Hendrickson has also just published ESN science columnist Andy Walsh’s book Faith Across the Multiverse, and we look forward to working with them. We hope to see many of you at the 2018 American Scientific Affiliation Annual Meetings at Gordon College this week. To God be the glory! ~ Thomas B. Grosh IV, Assoc. Dir., ESN [Read more…] about Faith and Science: A Book Contract and Fall Resources
Francis Collins will be speaking at Gordon College on Saturday July 28 as part of the American Scientific Affiliation (ASA) summer faith/science conference. We shared scholarship opportunities for those coming from a distance last week. ASA has also put together a great $25 local student/postdoc one-day package including a chance to connect with ESN, lunch with Christianity Today editor Rebecca Randall, and a clambake dinner. Not a student or postdoc? You can still hear Dr. Collins for $10 or sign up for the whole conference. Scroll down for options.Â
Would you like to hear Francis Collins? Connect with ESN in person? Go to a faith/science conference on the beautiful grounds of Gordon College, near Boston? All three are possible this July! Student registration is free, and student scholarships for half off lodging and meals are available. And if you’re a grad student or postdoc, you might even get $300 towards travel costs. The American Scientific Affiliation faith/science conference is coming up July 27-30 near Boston. [Read more…] about Hear Francis Collins at ASA 2018 ($300 Travel Scholarships Available)
ESN is currently creating a Faith/Science curriculum for young adult small groups. We’ve partnered with InterVarsity graduate student discussion groups to identify faith/science questions that are important to emerging scholars, and we’re commissioning thoughtful Christians in science or theology/philosophy to explore those questions in this series at the ESN blog. We will publish these posts as a booklet curriculum for campus groups. Today, we’re delighted to welcome Royce Francis to address the topic of “supporting science literacy among believers.” This project was made possible through the support of an award from the Science and Theology for Emerging Adult Ministries project at Fuller Theological Seminary. The opinions expressed are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect the views of Fuller or the STEAM project.
