Communication for Communion, Part 4 (Scholar’s Call)

Some aspects of verbal communication don’t have any particular conceptual content to them – rather they are there to form or to maintain a connection between persons. For instance, “How are you?” is not primarily a request for information but a means of forging contact with another human being, as is asking about the weather, at least in Britain.

What are your 3rd places?

Last week, when back in ‘da Burgh, something drew me to Kiva Han Coffee, a memorable 3rd place at the corner of Forbes/Craig.   What could it be?  It’s more than the strategic location between Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) and the University of Pittsburgh.  How about this grande vision?
