I’ve written a lot over the past two months on the topics of evolutionary biology and theology, perhaps more than some of you required. And yet I’ve also only scratched the surface of the relevant issues. Rather than continue ad nauseum, I thought I’d conclude this series with some suggestions for further reading. This won’t be an exhaustive bibliography; if you want something more comprehensive, you might try the relevant sections of the American Scientific Affiliation’s categorized resources or this reading list from the Jesus Creed blog. What I’ve collected here is some of the writing that has influenced my thinking and resources that I and my collaborators and commenters think are interesting and helpful. Feel free to add your own recommendations in the comments!

“Live” . . .
Over the weekend I posted Campus Resources from InterVarsity Press: 2014-2015 Academic Year Edition in the media section of the Emerging Scholars Network (ESN)’s website and now it’s on the blog too 🙂
With a tweaking of the format, we’ve tried as much as possible to weave the new releases into the rich selection offered last year. As I’ve shared before, this resource stems from a desire to place in your hands a glimpse of the classics, the excellent practical material, and the new releases InterVarsity Press (IVP) provides as we seek to
- grow in InterVarsity‘s Graduate & Faculty Ministry‘s Four Commitments
- bless InterVarsity’s Graduate & Faculty Ministry’s focused ministries – explore the back side of the resource sheet 🙂

Engaging Students in the Subject of Truth
To further “flesh out” Is Reality Secular? Testing the Assumptions of Four Global Worldviews? (InterVarsity Press, 2014), I asked Mary Poplin, PhD, Professor of Education, School of Educational Studies, Claremont Graduate University, to offer a follow-up series focused upon practical illustrations, stories, and resources. This is the “teaser” which includes a call to join the Emerging Scholars Network (ESN) in refining our resource material over the course of the coming academic term.
Mary Poplin: Many students, particularly in the humanities and social sciences are being taught that truths are nothing but individual or social/cultural constructions of reality that change over time and are used to wield power over others. A skeptical young coed asked Dallas Willard in one of his last talks, “What is truth?” His answer was that truth is reality and reality is what you run into when you are wrong.
