The University Today: Challenges and Opportunities

July 30, 2015 by Bob Trube 2 Comments

Transcript (with minor edits) of a talk given at the IFES World Assembly in Oaxtepec, Mexico on July 22, 2015. The topic was “The University Today” and the talk addresses four “change” forces in the university that present both challenges and opportunities for mission in the university. Each section includes the reflection questions shared during the talk. Many asked for this transcript so that they could get these questions and further discuss the implications of these “change” forces.

About Us

The Emerging Scholars Network (ESN) is a national network within InterVarsity’s Graduate & Faculty Ministries which supports those on the academic pathway as they work out how their academic vocation serves God and others. We encourage and equip undergraduates, graduate students, postdocs, and early career faculty as they navigate each stage of their academic vocation and transition to the next step in or beyond the academy.
