Urbana 15 seminar speaker Josh Swamidass will present at three Veritas Forum events this spring, and the first is coming up Monday, February 22. Veritas Forums are public events that engage students and faculty in discussions about life’s hardest questions and the modern relevance of Jesus Christ. They include dialogue partners from the host universities sharing how their perspectives are shaped by different worldviews.
Dr. Swamidass, a long term friend of ESN, will speak on faith/science topics in Montana, California, and Oregon. We are excited about these events as a place where Christian graduate students might gather and grow together. If you’re in the area, Josh welcomes you to attend and introduce yourself to him as an ESN member.
Here at ESN, we’ll be running a short tie in series exploring aspects of faith/science interaction related to Josh’s talks. This will be the first of a few posts, including several from Dr. Swamidass, and perhaps a piece or two from some of ESN’s other thoughtful science writers as well. In the meantime, you can enjoy the liveblog of Josh’s Urbana 12 talk or this interview with Josh and a collaborator from last spring’s Faithful Is Successful series. Details on the talks below. Stay tuned for more!

The Emerging Scholars Network is always seeking opportunities to identify, encourage, and equip the next generation of Christian scholars to be a redeeming influence in the academy, church, and the world. As you have an announcement, a “call for papers”, an event, a prayer request (e.g., campus, field, higher ed), a resource suggestion, a review, etc., which is in concord with our Kingdom of God endeavor, please send materials (marketing/sales material not accepted) for consideration to post via email or the ESN Writer Survey. Thank-you. To God be the glory!
