Join the heavens in proclaiming the glory of God

January 26, 2012 by Tom Grosh IV Leave a Comment

Finding Calcutta: How do I get there? How should I prepare for the journey?

October 6, 2011 by Tom Grosh IV Leave a Comment

How lovely is your dwelling place,  LORD Almighty!  My soul yearns, even faints,    for the courts of the LORD;  my heart and my flesh cry out   for the living God. . . .  Blessed are those whose strength is in you,  whose hearts are set on pilgrimage. . . . Better is one day in your courts  than a thousand elsewhere;  I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God  than dwell in the tents of the wicked (Psalm 84). Introduction – Praying the words of the psalmist Psalm 84  reflects upon a life's journey. … [Read more...] about Finding Calcutta: How do I get there? How should I prepare for the journey?

O God, you are my God, I seek you, my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry & weary land where there is no water. -- Psalm 63:1 InterVarsity Christian Fellowship's Graduate and Faculty Ministries  desires to see you flourish as you follow Christ and pursue the academic or professional vocation to which God has called you. As you may remember this is in the context of InterVarsity's larger vision to see students and faculty transformed, campuses renewed, and world changers … [Read more...] about Joyful Lips in Higher Education

Your Mind Matters 2: Why Use Our Minds?

June 16, 2009 by Tom Grosh IV 2 Comments

In the section entitled thinking God's thoughts, John Stott argues Psalm 19:1-4 and Romans 1:18-21 refer to God's self-revelation through the created order.   Although it is a proclamation without speech, a voice without words, yet as a result of it all men to some degree "know God."   This assumed ability of man to read what God has written in the universe is extremely important.   All scientific research depends upon it, upon a correspondence between the character of what is being investigated and the mind of the … [Read more...] about Your Mind Matters 2: Why Use Our Minds?
