As regular readers likely know, ESN has partnered with the American Scientific Affiliation (ASA) on a number of initiatives in the last few years, notably student tracks for the ASA’s last two Annual Meetings. This regular faith/science conference rotates around the country and will be at Gordon College near Boston for summer 2018. ESN is planning to collaborate with ASA on student tracks again, and we’d love to see members submit abstracts. Students: Some scholarship opportunities are available, so stay tuned for further information on that.
2/16 Update from Program Chair Michael Paul
We have many excellent abstracts for oral and poster presentations at ASA 2018, our annual meeting at Gordon College in Wenham, MA on July 27-30. Thank you to all who have submitted. Since we don’t want to leave anyone out of consideration, we have extended the deadline for abstract submission to Wednesday, February 28. Click here for the abstract submission form.
We look forward to hearing from you! If you have any questions, please let us know.
Original Message from Program Chair Michael Paul
We are excited to bring our annual meeting to the home of the ASA on the beautiful North Shore of Massachusetts, just 30 miles outside of Boston. We are looking to build on the record-breaking attendance of the last two conferences. You are invited to submit your work to contribute to the rich discussion on faith/science issues which are the hallmark of the ASA. The focus of ASA 2018 is bioethics and biotechnology where we aim to inspire debate on the increasingly important ethical questions surrounding these new technologies and their use within a Christian worldview. We encourage contributions from scientists working with digital technology. Of course, we are also keeping the best traditions of ASA meetings by inviting papers from the field of life sciences, physical sciences, engineering, and education. Posters are particularly encouraged from student members. Please join us to experience stimulating debate in the heart of New England at Gordon College, July 27–30, 2018!

The Emerging Scholars Network is always seeking opportunities to identify, encourage, and equip the next generation of Christian scholars to be a redeeming influence in the academy, church, and the world. As you have an announcement, a “call for papers”, an event, a prayer request (e.g., campus, field, higher ed), a resource suggestion, a review, etc., which is in concord with our Kingdom of God endeavor, please send materials (marketing/sales material not accepted) for consideration to post via email or the ESN Writer Survey. Thank-you. To God be the glory!
