I came the across What is the gospel? in Rachel Held Evans‘ Sunday Superlatives 6/9/2013. She gave Krish Kandiah’s interview of N.T. Wright* the distinction of Best Interview. Did Evans come across What is the gospel? in a “ramp up” to her recent Ask N.T. Wright . . .? In the midst of all the difficult material posted on her blog, I was encouraged that Sunday Superlatives 6/9/2013 began with Larissa Willard’s Tribute to her grandfather Dallas Willard.
What a gospel legacy left to us by Dallas Willard (1935-2013), Professor in the School of Philosophy, University of Southern California (USC).** Let’s join Larissa in Dallas’ (and what I consider Wright’s) call to Give ’em Heaven! . . . Stepping forward in the joy and confidence given to us by God and the humble knowledge that as Emerging Scholars we are like dwarves sitting/standing on the shoulders of giants 🙂 To God be the glory!
*N.T. Wright is currently serving as Professor of New Testament and Early Christianity at University of St Andrews. As many of you know, N.T. Wright has written a number of pieces for InterVarsity Press (IVP). For his IVP author page, click here.
**If you haven’t already done such, I encourage you to read Thank you. You can rest Dallas Willard. by Joe Thackwell, Graduate & Faculty Ministry, USC.
