Job Announcement: New College Franklin Seeks Trivium Professor

May 8, 2021 by ESN Announce No Comments

We frequently share job opportunity announcements that may be of interest to our readers. Brandon Spun, ESN author and Academic Dean of New College Franklin, shared this one with us.

New College Franklin—a four-year Christian liberal arts college in Franklin, TN—is seeking a professor of Trivium.

This is a part-time position with the potential to become full-time.

Our Trivium professor will teach Composition, Logic, and Rhetoric, as well as a course or two in the humanities. We are seeking candidates who are proficient in teaching, able to make connections between their classes and the rest of our curriculum, and passionate about educating students to be excellent communicators. Candidates should be well-versed in their particular field as well as possess a broad knowledge of the liberal arts and the great books. They should care deeply about bringing their courses to bear on faith, praxis, and the unity of knowledge; and they should strongly desire to belong to a Christian community that emphasizes the unity of academics and discipleship.

Our mission is to disciple students for Christ through the liberal arts for wisdom, virtue, and service. Teachers are required to believe and be committed to our statement of faith.

The Emerging Scholars Network is always seeking opportunities to identify, encourage, and equip the next generation of Christian scholars to be a redeeming influence in the academy, church, and the world. As you have an announcement, a "call for papers", an event, a prayer request (e.g., campus, field, higher ed), a resource suggestion, a review, etc., which is in concord with our Kingdom of God endeavor, please send materials (marketing/sales material not accepted) for consideration to post via email or the ESN Writer Survey. Thank-you. To God be the glory!

About Us

The Emerging Scholars Network (ESN) is a national network within InterVarsity’s Graduate & Faculty Ministries which supports those on the academic pathway as they work out how their academic vocation serves God and others.
