The Emerging Scholars Network (ESN) has an exciting new direction for interviews, encouraged by last spring’s Faithful Is Successful series. The interviews in that series became a great way of sharing mentoring and peer conversations through ESN. As emerging scholars interviewed more experienced academics or peers at a similar career point, their thoughtful explorations encouraged others through the blog. We’re hoping to do more interviews that let emerging scholars “listen in” on great conversations among mentors or peers.
But that’s not all. We’ll continue to have author interviews with writers of thoughtful books and articles with something to say to Christian academics, and we may have a few other types of interview as well.
Want to join our team of interviewers? Or are you willing to be interviewed about topics such as
- choosing graduate programs and applying,
- navigating different career stages,
- learning to teach,
- publishing your first book, etc.?

Writer’s Guidelines: Interviews
We often post interviews with thoughtful Christian scholars, and with others who are using their academic gifts to serve God and neighbor. Interviews may explore advice about career stages or common academic experiences, philosophical questions about integrating faith and learning, and other topics. We also post interviews with authors of books and articles that are significant for emerging Christian scholars. Many interviews consist of five short but thoughtful questions, sent and answered by email, but other formats are also welcome. Contact us if you’d like to be on the interviewing team or if you have a specific interview idea you’d like to share with us.

The Emerging Scholars Network is always seeking opportunities to identify, encourage, and equip the next generation of Christian scholars to be a redeeming influence in the academy, church, and the world. As you have an announcement, a “call for papers”, an event, a prayer request (e.g., campus, field, higher ed), a resource suggestion, a review, etc., which is in concord with our Kingdom of God endeavor, please send materials (marketing/sales material not accepted) for consideration to post via email or the ESN Writer Survey. Thank-you. To God be the glory!
