Hang Out With Cool People and Save $100 (Urbana Sponsorships)

July 2, 2015 by ESN Announce No Comments

Urbana bannerIf you missed the early deadline to register for Urbana, do not despair! You can still apply for ESN’s Urbana Sponsorship.

In a program through Urbana Exhibitors, the Emerging Scholars Network (ESN) is offering 20 $100 sponsorships to Urbana for Emerging Scholars. The program includes a chance to briefly connect with members of the Emerging Scholars Network before, during, and after Urbana.

We imagine this pilot program as a chance for Christians in higher ed to engage with others in their broad subject areas, talk about living missional lives in the academy, create connections to a wider community of missional scholars, and richly draw from Urbana programming (see http://ivgfm.org/urbana, https://www.facebook.com/UrbanaGFM, https://blog.emergingscholars.org/tag/urbana). All early career Christian academics are welcome to apply, from undergraduate students to assistant professors.

As we pursue opportunities to connect Christian scholars at other conferences, we plan to use the Urbana pilot program as a springboard to crafting other networking and community building experiences as well.

You can find the general Urbana Sponsorship page here for more information and other opportunities (you can apply for more than one sponsorship): https://urbana.org/student-sponsorship-program

The Emerging Scholars Network is always seeking opportunities to identify, encourage, and equip the next generation of Christian scholars to be a redeeming influence in the academy, church, and the world. As you have an announcement, a "call for papers", an event, a prayer request (e.g., campus, field, higher ed), a resource suggestion, a review, etc., which is in concord with our Kingdom of God endeavor, please send materials (marketing/sales material not accepted) for consideration to post via email or the ESN Writer Survey. Thank-you. To God be the glory!

About Us

The Emerging Scholars Network (ESN) is a national network within InterVarsity’s Graduate & Faculty Ministries which supports those on the academic pathway as they work out how their academic vocation serves God and others. We encourage and equip undergraduates, graduate students, postdocs, and early career faculty as they navigate each stage of their academic vocation and transition to the next step in or beyond the academy.
