Friday marked my girls’ last day of school. Note the past tense: summer “officially” began in our house on May 18. An already-compressed school combined with a mild winter (and no snow days) mean that our children will be home during the day before our house is anywhere near ready for them.
Other than that, though, we have a pretty good summer ahead: a family vacation to a warm beach, a fun research project for me, and lots of summer camps and other activities for the kids.
What are your summer plans? I’ve listed some common academic-type summer things below, but add more details or other ideas to the comments.
