North Park University Job Opening: Visiting Professor of Human Anatomy and Physiology
Position:
North Park University invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor in Anatomy and Physiology for the 2019-2020 academic year.
Qualifications:
The optimal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Biology or related field and prior college-level teaching experience (preferably in Human Anatomy and Physiology). Candidates should work well in a close-knit department. Experience with human cadavers is preferred.
Responsibilities:
As a Visiting Assistant Professor, the hire will primarily be responsible for teaching Anatomy and/or Physiology lecture and labs. Additional responsibilities may include teaching upper-division elective Biology courses pertaining to the hire’s area of expertise and contributing to various departmental activities. Participation in full faculty meetings and student advising are optional. The biology department at North Park is housed in the recently opened Johnson Center for Science and Community Life. This facility features high quality teaching labs for both Anatomy and Physiology, up to date teaching spaces, as well as a state of the art cadaver lab.
Time-line:
The candidate will teach during the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semesters (August 15, 2019 through May 15, 2020) with the potential for employment commencing during the Summer of 2019 based on candidate availability. Potential summer school teaching may be available at the end of the 2019-2020 academic year and will be compensated at the standard summer school salary rate.
