In January, I began a daily engagement of the Word/Story of God through The Bible Project. I have found The Bible Project a rich online resource to prayerfully consider and apply “How to Read the Bible” in a number of contexts.
Drawing from the outline on Bridgetown Church’s (Portland, OR) website, ESN has provided daily reflections via ESN Facebook and ESN Twitter.
If you are not currently turning to the Word of God in a daily manner, I encourage you to join me in The Bible Project. Today we’re exploring . . .
- The Story So Far: The Chronicles
- II Chronicles 21 – 24
- Psalm 76
- Note 1: If you’ve not watched any of The Bible Project videos of books of the Bible, I encourage you to check out The Chronicles and Psalms. Yes, they are excellent, complemented by a growing library of videos framing not only the books of the Bible, but also important Biblical themes.
- Note 2: Chronicles: Not a Repeat, but a Rekindling of Hope — The Bible Project’s blog post providing an overview of The Chronicles.
If you desire to pick-up the study when we begin the New Testament, then mark Wednesday, August 23, on your calendar.
- Jesus and the Kingdom
- Matthew 1 – 2
- Psalm 81

May your academic year, individually and as part of the people of God, be filled with the transforming power of the Word/Story and Spirit of God as you offer your life (head, heart, hands, and relationships) to God alone.
To God be the glory!
Tom enjoys daily conversations regarding living out the Biblical Story with his wife Theresa and their four girls, around the block, at Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ Church (where he teaches adult electives and co-leads a small group), among healthcare professionals as the Northeast Regional Director for the Christian Medical & Dental Associations (CMDA), and in higher ed as a volunteer with the Emerging Scholars Network (ESN). For a number of years, the Christian Medical Society / CMDA at Penn State College of Medicine was the hub of his ministry with CMDA. Note: Tom served with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship / USA for 20+ years, including 6+ years as the Associate Director of ESN. He has written for the ESN blog from its launch in August 2008. He has studied Biology (B.S.), Higher Education (M.A.), Spiritual Direction (Certificate), Spiritual Formation (M.A.R.), Ministry to Emerging Generations (D.Min.). To God be the glory!
