First Sunday of Lent (Prayer)

In recognition of the first Sunday of Lent, ESN shares this prayer. Scholar’s Compass will continue to run during Lent, but may appear during the week to give space for brief Lenten prayers and sometimes prayer requests on Sundays. Note: When you contact us, please do not only ask for advice, connections, and mentors, but also share particular prayer requests with us along the academic journey.

Prayer for the First Sunday in Lent, from  The Book of Common Prayer
Almighty God, whose blessed Son was led by the Spirit to be
tempted of Satan; Make speed to help thy servants who are
assaulted by manifold temptations; and, as thou knowest
their several infirmities, let each one find thee mighty to save;
through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and
reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for
ever. Amen.*

ESN Announce

The Emerging Scholars Network is always seeking opportunities to identify, encourage, and equip the next generation of Christian scholars to be a redeeming influence in the academy, church, and the world. As you have an announcement, a “call for papers”, an event, a prayer request (e.g., campus, field, higher ed), a resource suggestion, a review, etc., which is in concord with our Kingdom of God endeavor, please send materials (marketing/sales material not accepted) for consideration to post via email or the ESN Writer Survey. Thank you.
