Imagine, as a new graduate student, being able to connect online to a resource that explored:
- Why other Christian scholars see the academic life as an important vocation.
- How faith and learning shape each other in subjects like philosophy, biological and biomedical sciences, English, engineering, history, business, education, law, psychology, religion, music, computer science and more.
- Where to find further resources to build a bibliography of Christian approaches to your subject.
In 2015, our hope is to build that resource. Modeled partly on Scholar’s Compass reflections on the purpose of higher education and the integration of faith and academic disciplines, the Theology of Higher Education project aims to explore in more depth why Christians should pursue vocations in higher ed, and how that works out in individual subject areas.
We hope to build a team of thoughtful Christian scholars to provide solid starting points for scholars in as many subjects as possible. If that sounds compelling to you, please consider partnering with us. If you’re interested in writing, drop us a note and we’ll be in touch. To donate financially, follow the link below. Thank-you.

The Emerging Scholars Network is always seeking opportunities to identify, encourage, and equip the next generation of Christian scholars to be a redeeming influence in the academy, church, and the world. As you have an announcement, a “call for papers”, an event, a prayer request (e.g., campus, field, higher ed), a resource suggestion, a review, etc., which is in concord with our Kingdom of God endeavor, please send materials (marketing/sales material not accepted) for consideration to post via email or the ESN Writer Survey. Thank-you. To God be the glory!
