We want to grow the ESN team! After many years as our blog editor, Hannah Eagleson is assuming the role of Associate Director of Strategic Partnerships. Hannah will serve as our liaison with partner organizations working in higher education, including the American Scientific Affiliation, study centers, and other partners. She will support our new Scholars Compass booklet with groups using this resource to connect faith and work in the academy. And as Director, Bob Trube gives overall direction of ESN’s ministry as well as cultivates our partnerships with other teams inside InterVarsity.
This leaves us in search of a new editor for the ESN Blog and Monthly newsletter. The Emerging Scholars Network is a national, digital-first effort to develop, encourage, and support aspiring scholars on their academic journey from undergraduate studies through to early-career faculty positions. Since 2008 the blog has offered timely and relevant articles for scholars at every stage of their academic journey. Our monthly newsletters provide news on opportunities to engage with others in “the Network” and also highlight key resources.
InterVarsity is looking for a self-starting individual with strong planning, interpersonal, and editorial skills who will coordinate regular publication of monthly newsletters and thrice weekly blog postings that contribute to advancing the mission of the Emerging Scholars Network. This will include working in partnership with other members of the ESN team, and staff, student, and faculty writers. They need to be willing to raise the personal ministry support as agreed upon with the ESN Director. The position is posted as a part-time position.
Perhaps you are a follower of the ESN blog and had ideas about how it could develop further. You might be in a season of life where part-time editorial work on a flexible schedule would fit your situation. If so, we would invite you to visit the position posting on InterVarsity’s website. There you will find the complete position description and information on how to apply.
We’d love to hear your ideas for how ESN can serve you in the seasons of your academic journey. And pray for God to send the right people to our team!

The Emerging Scholars Network is always seeking opportunities to identify, encourage, and equip the next generation of Christian scholars to be a redeeming influence in the academy, church, and the world. As you have an announcement, a “call for papers”, an event, a prayer request (e.g., campus, field, higher ed), a resource suggestion, a review, etc., which is in concord with our Kingdom of God endeavor, please send materials (marketing/sales material not accepted) for consideration to post via email or the ESN Writer Survey. Thank-you. To God be the glory!
