Earlier this summer, we were delighted to welcome Andrea Bridges as a colleague. Andrea is the new editor for The Well, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship USA’s online magazine and community for women in the academy and professions. Today, Andrea shares a favorite prayer from The Book of Common Prayer to encourage Christian academics and others as we enjoy the summer and look toward our fall labors. Collect for the Fourth Sunday in Lent, Book of Common PrayerÂ
Gracious Father, whose blessed Son Jesus Christ came down
from heaven to be the true bread which giveth life to the
world: Evermore give us this bread, that he may live in us,
and we in him; who liveth and reigneth with thee and the
Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.*
Prayer request for the week:
- Pray for me and my fellow graduate students on my campus dealing with research blues, or environmentally induced depression. — Prayer request shared at Urbana Student Missions Conference during ESN’s seminar.
- Inspired by this request, let us in addition join together in praying for healing for graduate students across the nation, the creation. Furthermore, let us pray for God’s presence through his Word, Spirit, people, and creation to be unmistakeable not only this week, but also through the labors/years to come. To God be the glory!
