Urbana Early Registration Ends Today

Urbana bannerNote: We are taking a short break from Scholar’s Compass this week due to the Fourth of July holiday and the Urbana conference early registration deadline. We will be posting material on our Urbana content this week, among other things.

We would love to connect with you at Urbana! You can register here if you’re already planning to go. If you’re on the fence, here are three great reasons to come this year:

1. Connecting with other Christian scholars

It’s shaping up to be one of the best Urbana conferences ever for connections among Christian academics. InterVarsity’s Graduate and Faculty Ministries will host a lounge where emerging scholars can hang out, meet other people in their fields, and find resources. There may also be opportunities to meet seminar speakers, as well as a great set of seminars designed to support Christian scholars.

2. ESN’s Urbana Sponsorship

In addition, we’re giving out 20 ESN sponsorships for $100. Sponsorship will include opportunities to hang out with other Christians in your broad subject area in focused small groups. It’s one more way of connecting with a community and thinking through your vocation, and it includes $100 towards Urbana costs.

3. Participating in ESN’s new conferencing initiatives

God is graciously giving ESN a stronger presence at a number of conferences, and we’re working hard to build strong tracks at InterVarsity conferences, Christian professional conferences, and more. We’ll be using our Urbana presence as one model to explore how best to serve Christian scholars in these settings. Come join us and be part of that growth.

We’d love to see you at Urbana!

ESN Announce

The Emerging Scholars Network is always seeking opportunities to identify, encourage, and equip the next generation of Christian scholars to be a redeeming influence in the academy, church, and the world. As you have an announcement, a "call for papers", an event, a prayer request (e.g., campus, field, higher ed), a resource suggestion, a review, etc., which is in concord with our Kingdom of God endeavor, please send materials (marketing/sales material not accepted) for consideration to post via email or the ESN Writer Survey. Thank-you. To God be the glory! ~ Thomas B. Grosh IV, Associate Director, Emerging Scholars Network
